The period from infancy to toddlerhood is full of changes, especially related to eating. And feeding your child is supposed to be fun for all! However, for patients with inborn errors of metabolism, the changes can present more challenges, which often increases stress levels for all. From day one, there is so much focus on foods and monitoring daily intake. Transitions abound with introducing baby foods, advancing to table foods and self-feeding, moving from the bottle to the cup, and for patients with inborn errors of metabolism, transitioning to a next-stage metabolic formula. This symposium will guide you through managing these changes in a way that produces happy eaters. Techniques will be shared to help you teach your patients and caregivers skills that foster healthy feeding and a positive relationship with food(s). A healthy dynamic with food and formula in infancy and toddlerhood can benefit your patients for the rest of their lives.
