Dr. Krista Viau obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nutritional Science and doctoral degree in Public Health. She practiced as a metabolic dietitian for over 10 years at the University of Utah and Boston Children's Hospital. She was a co-investigator on industry-sponsored clinical trials and conducted research on the natural history of IEM and nutritional status of adults with PKU being treated with pegvaliase. In her current role at the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Viau is a senior nutrition reviewer of the nutrition and safety of infant formulas and medical foods.
