Marie Norris is a PhD candidate at the University of Utah where she studies the role of ceramides as drivers of heart failure in fatty acid oxidation disorders. Prior to her PhD, she was a Metabolic Dietitian at Seattle Children’s hospital where she provided medical nutrition therapy for patients with inborn errors of metabolism and participated in clinical research. Her career goal is to advance treatments for patients with inborn errors of metabolism. She is the recipient of a 2022 GMDI research grant and a 2023 NIH F31 predoctoral fellowship.
