Plasma Amino Acids in Individuals With PKU: What Do They Really Mean?
Description

Interpreting amino acid profiles beyond plasma phenylalanine is important for metabolic dietitians caring for patients with PKU and other amino acid disorders. This workshop will focus on amino acid status in determination of protein nutriture addressing topics including diurnal variation, differences in plasma amino acid values compared to unaffected individuals, how best to use amino acids in patient management of PKU, and how to interpret dietary intake relative to plasma amino acid values.

This workshop occurs on Thursday from 1:30 - 2:30pm and is repeated from 3:30 - 4:30pm.
