Heather Saavedra is a dietitian with many years of experience in inborn errors of metabolism at various metabolic centers. In addition to working with IEMs throughout most of her career, she has worked in pediatric nephrology and with NASA on the Space Station Program. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. She is the co-director of the GSD Program, which follows over 100 patients with GSD, at UTHealth. One of the things she appreciates most about metabolic dietitians and GMDI is the opportunity to learn from everyone’s experiences.
