Speaker Bio
Anne Blake began her career in the General Clinic Research Center (GCRC) at Duke University Medical Center where she coordinated and developed nutritional study plans for research protocols, many of which were for the study and treatment of inborn errors of metabolism (IEM). With the advent of newborn screening in NC, Anne joined with a team of brilliant and compassionate geneticists to help establish the Pediatric Genetic Metabolic Clinic in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke. She was the metabolic dietitian at Duke for many years and her love of the children and families impacted by IEMs flourished. When the opportunity arose to move into industry and support bringing new treatments to those with rare genetic disorders, she was well prepared and ready. Anne currently works at Ultragenyx, as the Associate Director of Global Metabolic Nutrition Programs (GMNP) and supports the Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD) and the Ornithine Transcarbamylase (OTC) gene therapy programs.
