Heather Saavedra obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in General Dietetics from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  She obtained her Master of Science degree in Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX. Heather is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UTHealth McGovern Medical School.  She is the co-director of the Metabolic Clinical Trials Unit and co-director of the Glycogen Storage Disease Program.  She also works as a dietitian for clinical trials involving novel therapies for GSD.
